Marco D. Anderson is an accomplished law enforcement executive, public safety professional, and organizational leader with more than 25 years of experience serving and protecting communities throughout Tennessee. Throughout his distinguished career, he has demonstrated a commitment to public safety, leadership development, crime prevention, emergency preparedness, and community engagement.
Currently serving as a Lieutenant with the University of Memphis Police Department, Marco has progressively advanced through the ranks of law enforcement, holding positions including Sergeant, Detective, Crime Prevention Officer, Community Liaison, and Patrol Officer. His extensive experience provides a comprehensive understanding of public safety operations, criminal investigations, crisis response, personnel management, and community-oriented policing.
Marco holds a Bachelor of Science in Management and Organizational Development and a Master of Science in Conflict Resolution from Bethel University. His educational background, combined with decades of practical leadership experience, enables him to effectively navigate complex organizational challenges, foster collaboration, and develop solutions that strengthen both institutions and communities.
A highly respected trainer and instructor, Marco holds numerous specialized certifications in law enforcement, emergency management, active shooter response, crisis intervention, crime prevention, firearms instruction, self-defense tactics, and leadership development. He has trained law enforcement personnel, university staff, students, and community groups on topics including personal safety, emergency preparedness, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and public security awareness.
